The National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Information Security Engineer Lead that will be responsible for the leadership and execution of the NBOME information security function.  Under the supervision of the AVP, IT, the Information Security Team Lead will lead a team to develop and implement security processes and solutions, including ongoing assessment and compliance to required security guidelines across the enterprise computing environment.  The Information Security Team Lead will develop and implement security processes and solutions, including ongoing assessment and compliance training to required security guidelines across the enterprise computing environment.

 

LOCATION: PHILADELPHIA OFFICE                                                                     DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business partners and internal departments to establish and maintain our security framework (eg. PCI-DSS)  
  • Self-motivated to learn and apply the internal workings of Security systems and how they can efficiently manage system resources, operations and process across multiple platforms.
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership on security engineering and design to information technology teams by referencing and enforcing best practices and policies commensurate with the security posture of the organization.
  • Provide technical guidance for the detection of incidents such as malware, virus, worms, phishing, social engineering, identity theft, DDoS, unauthorized access and advanced persistent threats.
  • Provides technical guidance for remediation strategies to address information security-based vulnerabilities throughout the enterprise.
  • Maintains good communications at all times while also providing technical assistance, support, training and guidelines for staff in the efficient and effective use of resources.

·         Implement security engineering best practices for NBOME's infrastructure, systems, and applications. Implement initiatives through our deployment process.

·         Implement new projects through project governance, architecture, requirements analysis, design, project management and systems integration phases.

·         Installs and maintains advanced systems used for the automated management of Security systems operations, resources and processes.

·         Generates advanced security and compliance-based automation ideas which increase system performance and system availability, and which allow the company to be more efficient and effective, creating value.
Identifies and implements advanced ideas, techniques, interfaces, software and processes in order to continually create additional opportunities of the automation of Information Security systems operations and resources.

·         Provides in-depth level troubleshooting and advanced problem determination.
Conduct weekly incident response updates

·         Identify and pursues opportunities for continuing professional development to increase understanding of assigned areas, Information Security, computer technology and other relative areas.

·         Investigates and studies new and developing technologies in order to determine their potential value and applicability within the Security infrastructure.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years of applicable information security expertise.  Health care education experience preferred.

·         Special Certification (one or more of the following): Certified Information System Security Professional cortication is preferred. Example (CISSP(ISC2), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), SANS-GIAC certifications, System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Network Security Professional (CNSP).  An equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience may be substituted

·         Experience in a medical association or not for profit organization a plus.

·         Functional without close supervision immediately.
